The Songket Series Chocolate Bars
The KAKAO PROJECT - SONGKET SERIES is the first unique collaboration between Kakao Origin, a purveyor of specialty chocolate drinks, and Malaysian visual artists. Supported by Taksu Galleries and Chocolate Concierge, the Songket series sees the transformation of Malaysian artist Dani Omar's actual artworks combined to celebrate the purity of Malaysian single-origin chocolate and the rich cultural landscape of Malaysian art.
Three limited edition chocolate bars enriched with truly unique Malaysian flavours are encased in packaging featuring Dani Omar's art, inspired by the intricate and beautiful patterns of Songket fabric, making every chocolate bar a collectible piece of art.
Working with premium chocolatier, Chocolate Concierge, three distinctly Malaysian flavours were created to complement the series:

About the Collaboration
This initiative aims to promote local Malaysian artists and showcase the finest Malaysian specialty chocolates and flavours. to consumers as well support the local chocolate and art ecosystem. By intertwining the worlds of art and chocolate, Kakao Origin hopes bring forward a product that not only delights the palate but also celebrates Malaysian heritage and creativity.
About the Artist
Dani Omar's artwork brings a modern twist to traditional Songket patterns, harmonising tradition with contemporary life. Since 2014, Dani has focused on creating art using Songket fabric, a niche that sets him apart in an art world often dominated by Batik. His paintings capture the visual beauty and cultural significance of Songket, infused with unique energy that leaves a lasting impression. For more information, click here.
