Kakao Origin x Yoss Yoseff

The KAKAO PROJECT - GADIS SERIES is the first unique collaboration between Kakao Origin, a purveyor of specialty chocolate drinks, and Malaysian visual artists. Supported by Taksu Galleries and Chocolate Concierge, the Gadis series sees the transformation of Malaysian artist Yoss Yusoff's actual art combined to celebrate the purity of Malaysian single-origin chocolate and the rich cultural landscape of Malaysian art.

Three limited edition chocolate bars enriched with truly unique Malaysian flavours are encased in packaging featuring Yoss Yusoff art which  passionately integrates figures with Batik into a single cohesive painting as his art. 

 

Working with premium chocolatier, Chocolate Concierge, three distinctly Malaysian flavours were created to complement the series:

Milk Chocolate with Coconut (40gm)

70%  Dark Chocolate with Chili and Ginger  (40gm)

80% Dark Chocolate with Jackfruit (40gm)

 

 

About the Collaboration

This initiative aims to promote local Malaysian artists and showcase the finest Malaysian specialty chocolates and flavours. to consumers as well support the local chocolate and art ecosystem. By intertwining the worlds of art and chocolate, Kakao Origin hopes bring forward a product that not only delights the palate but also celebrates Malaysian heritage and creativity.

 

About the Artist

Yoss Yoseff passionately integrates figures with Batik, Chinese textiles, and traditional Japanese kimonos into a single cohesive painting as his art. Inspired by his mother's devotion, his work resonates with a deep connection to his cultural heritage. Yoss has exhibited across Malaysia and Singapore, continuing to captivate with his evocative artworks that celebrate familial love and cultural identity. Yoss not only honours the unique beauty of each cultural component but also breathes new life into them.
